Statement generation - MACRIM was able to produce and deliver highly graphical financial statements based on text file outputs from a legacy Cobalt application. These statements combine several different reports and charts, all seamlessly formatted into a PDF for delivery. The transfer of text files and delivery of the statements is accomplished using a custom implementation of SmartFolder technology.
Content Management Web Service - When faced with several critical requirements and compressed project timelines, the MACRIM team was asked to extend the functionality of an existing website with several reporting and form production tools. MACRIM Synergy Foundation classes were used in creating a web service, which provides rich HTML and PDF content to the existing site seamlessly.
Single-page dynamic web applications - The Synergy Foundation classes have been used to create many robust web applications that only contain one actual web page. Page definitions are stored in a configuration file or database, and all pages are created dynamically. Current applications are implemented to work over Microsoft SQL Server databases. Applications support normal application features such as searching, adding, editing, and deleting records - without distributing any additional compiled code modules for new/modified interfaces!
Application Service Provider - RelevantWeb.com is one of the primary implementations of MACRIM Synergy ASP Server. Scores of business customers use a single application interface to maintain and publish their websites. With few formatting constraints, customers are able to protect their own look and branding, even though content for all customers is stored in the same database repository.
Job and Bidding Web Site - MACRIM was asked to create a website that allowed homeowners to post jobs, and then allowed relevant contractors to place bids on those jobs. After a bid was chosen, the selected contractor pays a lead fee. Existing Synergy ASP Server components were used as a basis for this business model - with only one component requiring customization to track the jobs and bids. Other components, including Web Content Management, Customer Resource Management, and Advanced Storefront were implemented without modification to support the rest of the business model.
